What MapMyDrive is here to do

MapMyDrive helps you work through the practical questions before a drive. How much might the fuel cost? What belongs in the whole-trip budget? How do two already-researched routes compare? Who owes what after a shared journey? The site separates those questions into small tools so you can see the assumptions and make the final decision yourself.

The workbench is for drivers, passengers and groups planning a road trip or reviewing shared expenses. It can help organize a rough plan or a more detailed set of entered figures. It is not connected to your vehicle, bank account or charging account, and it cannot know your actual road, vehicle or passenger circumstances.

Six tools, six focused questions

Choose the tool that matches the decision in front of you. Each one works from information you enter; none should be read as a live quote or a provider’s approval.

• Fuel Cost Workbench. Estimate fuel use and cost from entered distance, economy and price, with a separate reserve.
• Road Trip Budget Board. Combine the trip expenses you enter and add a chosen contingency.
• Drive & Break Planner. Budget moving time and selected breaks to explore an arrival estimate.
• Route Trade-off Studio. Compare two known routes using entered fuel, toll and time assumptions.
• Passenger Split Ledger. Work through shared expense contributions and settlement amounts.
• EV Charge Budget. Estimate charging energy and cost using the vehicle and price assumptions you provide.

Start with your figures. Keep the assumptions visible.

Begin with the units and field labels, replace the sample numbers, then read the method alongside the result. If a price, date or allowance is uncertain, try more than one reasonable value. A change in the answer is useful information about the plan’s sensitivity—not evidence that the tool has discovered a new fact about your journey.

Examples are there to explain a calculation. They are not advertised prices, first-hand reviews or a recommendation to choose a particular provider. The site does not turn an estimated figure into a guarantee simply because it appears in a neatly formatted result.

A workbench, not a map

Despite the name, MapMyDrive does not generate a route or track a vehicle on a live map. You bring the researched distances, prices and vehicle figures. The tools help compare that information. A cheaper route is not necessarily the best route, a break schedule is not a fatigue assessment, and an energy estimate is not a promise that a charger will be working when you arrive.

What the tools cannot decide for you

MapMyDrive is not a navigation provider, live traffic feed, vehicle diagnostic, charging-network operator or payment service. It does not transfer money between passengers, confirm charger availability or declare a driver or vehicle safe. Prices, efficiency, weather, loads and actual conditions can change the outcome substantially.

Use the tools before departure or while safely stopped. Do not interact with them while driving, crossing a road or doing anything that requires your full attention. Allow for uncertainty, changing conditions and the needs of everyone traveling. If an answer seems inconsistent with reality, stop and check both your inputs and the underlying source information.

Browser-based tools, with separate website services

The supplied calculators and builders carry out their calculations in the open browser page. They do not require a tool account or automatically upload entered calculation values to a dedicated calculation server. Export or print a result if you want a copy; do not rely on the open page as a permanent record.

MapMyDrive also uses Google Analytics, and the site’s contact forms process messages you submit. Those website services are separate from the calculation code. Advertising may be introduced, but is not represented here as an active service. Read the Privacy Policy for the fuller distinction, including cookies, contact messages and your choices.

Clear controls and room for different needs

The tools are designed around labeled inputs, readable results and explanations that do not depend on decorative animation. Where a motion control is provided, you can switch the decoration off; reduced-motion preferences are also taken into account in the supplied design. Your planning information should remain understandable without the animation.

We welcome reports about an unclear label, a keyboard obstacle, a screen-reader issue or a layout that makes a task harder. Include the page, browser and a short description of what happened. Do not send confidential documents or private travel records to demonstrate a problem.
